Hide And Seek in Scream And Run — Roles, Rules & the X-Ray Trick
Hide And Seek is Scream And Run's second mode — no keys, one player monsters the rest, an X-ray skill for the cat and a survive-until-6-AM clock. Every verified rule on one page.
Hide And Seek is Scream And Run's second mode and its purest hide-and-survive format: there are no keys, no backpacks and no exit objective — one player becomes the monster and everyone else simply has to stay uncaught until the round ends. It runs on the same dark maps as the main Escape hunt, which makes it the cheapest way to learn a building before playing for real. Seen in footage · 2026-09-11
The Verified Rules
The mode's full rule set came out of caption mining from live footage — every line below traces to a recording: Seen in footage · 2026-09-11
- Survive from 12 AM to 6 AM. The round is a night clock, not a score chase — hiders win by existing, not by collecting.
- One of you plays the monster. Anyone can take the cat role for 125 Robux — it is the game's only paid role switch, separate from the Escape mode's gamepasses.
- The cat has an X-ray skill. The hunter can see player outlines through walls for a limited window, which is why "perfect" hiding spots still get busted — timing your movement to the X-ray cooldown matters more than the spot itself.
- Proximity alert. Hiders get a warning when the cat closes in — the same hear-it-before-you-see-it principle as the Escape mode's laugh.
- The cat crawls. Footage repeatedly catches the monster dropping low and crawling — flat glances across a room are not enough to rule it out.
Why Hide And Seek Is the Best Practice Mode
Because nothing is at stake but the round: new players learn the map's rooms, sight lines and crawl holes without juggling the five-key objective, and the X-ray cat teaches the single most transferable lesson in the game — a hiding spot is a timing decision, not a place. The hiding spots guide covers where, this mode covers when. Inferred · 2026-09-22
